Poetry ?

Well, I am doing this online class. It about art and propaganda. I just thought that might be something interesting to study. Now here I am taking the class. He has made us do some poetry. I thought just so you would have something to read I would post my poetry.

Here are the requirements of a poem I did last week. I did it the same time as the pictures in my last post.

Write a couple of lines of symbolist poetry to describe the mood you are in right now.

And here is my attempt to fulfill that requirements. I must have been watching the news recently. I noticed that this poem doesn't have a title.

Light Traffic on the westbound portion of the Flying WYE,
Slightly Windy right now but mostly Blue Skies.
Possible snow Tonight. Tomorrow, High of 38 low of 25.

That means there could be delays if you plan to fly.
Be weary of potential black ice in the morning for those who need to drive,
Slow down and go easy on the breaks, we don't want you to crash and die.

And here my other poem. I guess it was supposed to be short. My poem is not that short. Also, I don't think I remember what half of the terms are or if I did what I was supposed to do.Write a short lyric poem describing some aspect of BYU-Idaho life. Employ at least three of the following elements: metaphor, simile, symbol, synecdoche, metonymy, analogy, and allegory.

It starts out like a poem that I heard in my world literature class at ISU that I thought was interesting. It is called "Ozymandias" and except for the beginning my poem isn't very much like this poem.

My idea for the poem was what someone might think of BYU-I as an anthropological find.

I heard the tale of a traveling man
He told of a place he had found

where the inhabitants gaze twas heaven bound.
The people at once did disappear,
perhaps transported to a loftier sphere.

And sitting as if they were jewels of the crowned,
lay their monuments, springing forth from the ground.

Statuesque, stood they in the glimmering sun.
Standing as testaments to the things they had done.

The monuments that remain tell us, “What did they do?”
Which may cause One to wonder,
What will your monuments say about you?
